i read an interesting article last night-designers' ideas for things that can spruce your nest in a day. all the ideas were very simple with big results. here are a few of mine.

1. hang a new chandelier over the breakfast table-something fun that will energize you in the morning.

2. change the pillows on your family room sofa. you won't believe how exciting a new pillow can be-think of it as a new statement piece of jewelry that you want to wear everyday because it freshens your look (even if it is last year's dress).

3. fill in "holes" by hanging plates. crisp white china usually fits in anywhere, is easy to find (you probably have some in the attic) and is inexpensive. awfully boring on the table-suddenly chic on the walls.
